Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Then she became an anchor and morning reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's reportage on the streets of Charleston about the police's leniency toward DUI cases resulted in the State Law Enforcement Division investigating these instances. According to the Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the year Award for all South Carolina media. O'Dell then worked for the Miami-based NBC station WTVJ-TV as an investigative journalist, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. The present role of O'Dell as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News.
